Jaime Pressly: How I Reduce My 'Terrible Mom Guilt'

Sharing her secret! Jaime Pressly struggles with mom guilt while balancing raising her three kids with a successful career, but she battles the bad feelings with time off.

“I’m very fortunate because right now, I’m on a hiatus and that’s … why I’m so grateful being in the business as a mother,” the actress, 41, told Us Weekly exclusively on Saturday, June 1, at the Bloom Summit presented by New Bloom Media and @beautymomme. “[I’m] on a multi-camera sitcom format where I get to wake up with my kids in the morning and come home in the afternoon or evening and put them to bed, and I have my weekends off and actually get to have some type of a normal schedule. It’s allowed me to be a mom and be present, and that’s the most important thing for me … because I have terrible mom guilt.”

The My Name Is Earl alum added: “I don’t think I’m ever going to get rid of that, even when they’re grown up. I think I’m still gonna have it. I think every mom does.”

While navigating this struggle, the It’s Not Necessarily the Truth author has received great advice from her “support system,” Mom costar Mimi Kennedy.

“She’s assured me that your kids are going to see [you] work and it’s good for them to see their mom work because they’re going to grow up with the same work ethic,” she told Us. “And [she told me] that it’s quality over quantity. It’s not about being with your kids 24/7, it’s about the time you do spend with them and making it count and making it quality time.”

Pressly and her then-fiancé, DJ Eric Calvo, gave birth to Dezi, now 12, in 2007. A decade later, she welcomed twin sons, Leo and Lenon, now 19 months, with her boyfriend, Hamzi Hijazi.
