Hello from the other side of a slimdown! Adele was nearly unrecognizable at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Oscars party at West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont on Sunday, February 9, after losing a reported 100 pounds.

Kinga Rusin, a Polish TV presenter, posed for a photo with the “Hello” singer, 31, at the event. In the pic, Adele showed off a narrow waist in a glittery leopard-print dress.

“Honestly, I didn’t recognize her,” Rusin, 48, wrote via Instagram the following day, according to an Internet translation of her caption. “We talked, laughing until she said her name.”

In January, fan Meredith Noonan exclusively told Us Weekly about her family running into Adele in Anguilla, where the 15-time Grammy winner was vacationing with Harry Styles and James Corden.

“When she introduced herself and began asking us about ourselves and our vacation in Anguilla, I apologized for not recognizing her right away and she said, ‘Don’t worry, I’ve lost around 100 pounds,’” Noonan recalled. “We told her how great she looks. She seemed very happy and relaxed, totally enjoying her vacation! We didn’t talk about how she lost it.”

Noonan, a Fordham University School of Business student, added that Adele — who split from husband Simon Konecki in April 2019 after two years of marriage — looked “really comfortable in her own skin” and was “so down-to-earth and outgoing.”

She continued: “The most unexpected part was Adele walking over and sitting down with us, and then asking Harry to come over. Both Adele and Harry were so genuine and it’s nice to get a glimpse of who they really are.”

Camila Goodis, Adele’s former Pilates instructor, speculated about the singer’s weight loss at the time. “Do I think that she exercised crazy? I don’t,” Goodis said. “I think she did change her lifestyle, like eating better, exercising moderately. The path to lose weight is not really a lot of exercise. It’s actually your mouth. And I tell all my clients, ‘You can exercise 10 hours a day, if your diet is poor, you’re not going to see success.’ That’s the real truth.”

Heather Struhl, a registered dietitian and physician assistant, told Us a few days earlier that the British songstress — the mother of son Angelo, 7 — likely lost weight gradually. “For Adele, this appears to have been a gradual weight loss over the past several months, which is optimal for health.”
