You’re never too young to start learning about privilege! Keke Palmer is teacher her 6-month-old baby Leodis about how to use the things he’s been given to help out the world, and it’s such a lovely reminder for moms (because we are all privileged in one way or another!).

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the 2023 Black Music Action Coalition Gala on Thursday, she shared that she wanted Leo to learn to “use his resources, use his privilege for good.”

“I mean, that’s the whole point, right? We all continue to grow, each generation, we try to provide our children and the next generation with something more than what we had,” the Nope star, who shares Leo with ex Darius Jackson, said. “So he’s definitely gonna have more than what I had growing up.”

“I want him to take that and use it to benefit others,” she continued. “Because I think that’s the point, you know? Why else are we here?”

So true! Not to mention, Palmer is leading by example. “It means everything,” she said about winning the evening’s Social Impact Award. “I mean, when I came into the industry, you know, my talents were there, but it was also, what I could do with my talents, how I could represent my community, and do something that would push us forward, hopefully, in a positive way. And so to be honored for that, it means so much.”

Last month, the Big Boss singer encouraged moms not to compare their postpartum bodies to celebs.

“Anytime you see a celebrity doing a snap back or whatever like that, it’s part of the damn gig,” Palmer said during an episode of the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast. “A part of our jobs is to look good and to look the part. So don’t think it’s this thing where it’s like, ‘We doing it because we got it like that.’ No, the job is on the line,” she said, adding, “If we want the checks to get signed, we got to be what we got to be.”

Palmer explained that she never wants anyone to feel pressured by her personal journey. “I never want to put it on anybody,” Palmer said. “I always want to make it clear that when I am talking about fitness, health, and wellness, it’s that your journey is your journey. You figure it out the way you can. And when you look at these celebrities and people in the industry, know that it is their job.”
