Erectile dysfunction: Dr Sara on possible injections for condition
Erectile dysfunction is an inability to get or maintain an erection. Dr Patel, based at LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor, revealed seven factors that could lead to the health condition.
Dr Patel said: “In most cases, it is due to a reduced blood flow to the penis. However, external factors including some lifestyle choices can also cause erectile problems.”
Dr Patel added: “An increased number of young men are experiencing erectile dysfunction.”
One of the reasons for erectile dysfunction to appear is if you lead an inactive lifestyle.
Dr Patel explained: “Lack of regular physical activity and excessive sitting can lead to poor blood circulation and reduced overall cardiovascular health.

Another possible risk factor is an unhealthy diet that is full of processed foods, refined sugars, and unhealthy fats.
Not eating well could contribute to disease including diabetes, which is a known risk factor for erectile dysfunction.
“As erectile dysfunction is connected to blood flow, it’s important to have healthy blood vessels,” said Dr Patel.

“Smoking has been strongly linked to an increased risk of erectile dysfunction,” Dr Patel said.
“Similarly to smoking, there is some research to suggest that vape users are more likely to experience ED than men who have never vaped.”
Additional factors could include excessive alcohol consumption, stress and poor mental health, relationship issues, and medication.
