Dewan went on to compliment Everly’s many brag-worthy traits. “Evie you are magical, wise, hilarious and strong. You teach me every single day,” she wrote, adding heart emojis. “To another incredible year..”
The World of Dance alum shares her daughter with estranged husband Channing Tatum. The pair tied the knot in July 2009 before announcing their separation in April 2018.
Dewan filed for divorce from Tatum, 39, in October 2018. The Resident star requested joint physical and legal custody of Everly at the time, while the Magic Mike actor asked for the same in his response.
That same month, Us Weekly exclusively revealed that Tatum had moved on with girlfriend Jessie J. Us also confirmed weeks later that Dewan is dating Steve Kazee.
The estranged pair have remained friendly since their breakup. “They’ve both handled their split maturely from the start,” a source told Us in December 2018. “This whole situation has never been contentious, and there’s never been any animosity or hatred toward each other.”
However, things were more complicated by February. “It’s been challenging and emotional,” an insider revealed of the divorce at the time, with another adding: “There are certain hurdles that they face.”
Tatum raved over his daughter’s resilience in court documents obtained by Us in January. “In my opinion and experience, Everly has appeared to adjust to our separation and living in two homes exceptionally well,” he said. “I believe that she will thrive even more with structure and consistency because she is happy and more relaxed when she knows a plan.”
