Baby bliss! Jessica Simpson’s family is overjoyed to be welcoming her newborn daughter, Birdie Mae, to the Simpson clan.
The 38-year-old’s younger sister, Ashlee Simpson, retweeted her post Opens a New Window. about Birdie’s arrival on Wednesday, March 20, alongside three heart emojis.
Their mom, Tina Simpson, also weighed in on the exciting news via Instagram. “Our beautiful blessing Birdie Mae welcome to the tribe!” she commented on Jessica’s Instagram post on Wednesday. “We love more than all the moon and stars in the heavens!!!!”
The Dukes of Hazzard alum welcomed her third child with husband Eric Johnson on Tuesday, March 19. “We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter, Birdie Mae Johnson. 3.19.19,” she captioned a black-and-white Instagram photo earlier on Wednesday of daughter Maxwell, 6, holding the baby’s hand. “10 Pounds 13 Ounces.”
Just two days before giving birth, the “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer posted an Instagram snapshot of her bare baby bump alongside the caption, “Jess-tation.”
A source previously told Us Weekly that Simpson and Johnson, 39, were “surprised but overjoyed” to be giving Maxwell and son Ace, 5, a little sibling. “Jessica and Eric are over the moon. They are so happy and so excited,” the insider revealed in September 2018. “It’s fun because Ace and Maxwell are at an age where they understand what is happening. They are really cute waiting for their baby sister.”
Although the Employee of the Month actress told Ellen DeGeneres in May 2017 that she had no plans to expand her brood, she exclusively told Us one year later that motherhood has been her greatest joy.
“Being a mother is the best opportunity and challenge I’ve ever been blessed with in my life,” she said in May 2018. “Right now, my kids are in this amazing stage where I’m really listening to them without judgment and they’re teaching me so much. These little innocent kids teach me so much about life.”
