Dwayne Johnson might be better known by his wrestling moniker The Rock, but the actor apparently doesn’t always sleep like one. The star of DC’s upcoming Black Adam movie shared a few insomnia-fueled Instagram posts leading into a new week to document his struggles with catching Zs ahead of the start to the workweek.

The first post was simple, showing Johnson standing in front of a digital clock reading the time: 3:46. What led him to get up at such an ungodly hour isn’t totally clear from the image alone, but his caption casts a bit more light on the situation. “Monday morning,” he wrote. “Let’s get to work my friends.” Unsurprisingly, if you’re familiar with Johnson’s persona, he’s talking about hitting the gym for a workout.

Sure enough, Johnson shared another post a few hours later that featured a video of his walk to his Iron Paradise gym. In a voiceover, Johnson reveals that it was 4:15 a.m. by that point—and that he decided to turn his insomnia into an excuse to kick off his Monday earlier than usual.

“Just one of those nights where I could not shut my brain off, had so much on my mind,” he says. “I got no sleep.” Rather than tossing and turning in bed, he hit the gym to keep up his intense training regimen for the final week of the Black Adam shoot and whatever projects he has lined up next.

Thankfully for Johnson, the early morning walk to the gym was less hazardous than what he dealt with the day before. The actor had just shared a video of a hawk eating a snake outside his window, which blocked his way to the Iron Paradise.

“It’s either my workout or his snake,” Johnson quipped in the video. “If y’all don’t hear from me in a few hours, you’ll know that I got my ass kicked by a hawk.”

On Sunday, Johnson was stymied by the bird of prey. But by Monday, The Rock was the early bird catching the worm with his pre-dawn training session.
