Corey Yribarren has joined Sephora North America as chief people officer, as of March 1.
Yribarren was most recently leading global human resources for Benefit Cosmetics, where she has worked since 2004. Sephora North Americas president and chief executive officer Jean-André Rougeot also joined the business from Benefit, which like Sephora, is owned by LVMH.
Yribarren will report to Rougeot, and will also serve as a member of the operating committee. She replaces Karalyn Smith, who left Sephora in 2019 to join Williams-Sonoma.
"I have known Corey for 13 years and am confident she will lead our h.r. team with great success and continue the enormous strides made to ensure Sephora is one of the best and most inclusive places to work," Rougeot said in a statement. "I would also like to extend my thanks to Yvette Nichols, vice president of talent, for leading the team in the interim."
Yribarren said she is particularly excited to work with Sephora because of the company's "Belong" campaign, which is centered around inclusivity. "The work Sephora has been doing with its 'Belong' campaign has me particularly excited to see what more we can do to continue to create inclusive and diverse spaces for our clients and employees," she said.
