Jenna Dewan is all in her feels this week. Her daughter Everly “Evie” Tatum, who she shares with ex-husband Channing Tatum, turned 10 years old yesterday! The professional dancer celebrated by posting a rare set of photos of her daughter, and it’s impossible not to get a little teary-eyed going down memory lane with her.

The first photo is a blurry selfie from the hospital room, as Evie sleeps on her mom’s chest. In the next, Evie is already a chubby baby, giving the camera a look from a boat in her mama’s arms. In one picture, she plays with a curler as a stylist curls her hair, Dewan smiling in the background. Her big blue eyes are on full display, and she looks gorgeous.

In other photos, she plays in the sand on the beach, goes on a bike ride, and dances in the bath with her mom. Slide to the last photo to see Evie all grown up, with long blond hair and a bright smile. She stands arm-in-arm with her mom and is almost as tall as her already! The time really does go by so fast.

  • Jenna Dewan & Channing Tatum Split in 2019

Dewan and Tatum met on the set of Step Up in 2006 and were married from 2009 to 2019. Tatum told Vanity Fair that their breakup was “probably exactly what I needed.” He went on, “I don’t think I would’ve ever done the work, I think, on myself in the way that I had to do the work on myself to really try to figure out what next. And really, it just started with my daughter. I just dropped everything and just focused on her. And it was truly the best possible thing that I ever could have done. Because in the alone time that I have with just me and her, we’ve become best friends.”

Dewan, who also has a son named Callum, 3, with fiance Steve Kazee, opened up to SheKnows in April 2023 about how she builds confidence in her daughter. “When she was really young, I allowed her to pick out her outfits every day, and she wore strictly purple for a whole year and that was completely fine. I allow her to express herself … And I think little things like that have helped her feel confident in herself.”

  • Everly Doesn’t Really ‘Get’ Social Media Yet

SheKnows recently caught up with Tatum as he promoted his new book, The One and Only Sparkella and the Big Lie, and he opened up about how she’s not on social media yet.

“I don’t think she really gets what [social media] is,” he told us. “She likes to see little videos every once in a while. Like we’re playing around and learning bo staff. And I’ll look up some videos on Instagram just because they’re shorter and they’re a little bit more simple to bite off a small piece. But she never asks me to have my phone to look on Instagram.”

Tatum went on, “I’m sure it’s coming. She’s turning 10, she’s going into 5th grade. You know, I’m sure her friends are on it. But, she’s a weirdo. She’s a very contrarian type child. She always goes against the grain. She’s just now getting into pop music, like Taylor Swift and stuff. Her friends have been listening to it forever and she was just kinda like, ‘Eh, I don’t get it.’ And when she hears like one of us cuss or, you know, say a bad word, she’s like, ‘Dad!’ or she hears it in a song, she’s like, ‘Really?’ It’s funny. She’s cool.”
