I'll be totally honest here: most eye shadow palettes are just too dang big for me. I might be a beauty editor and wear a lot of makeup, but 12 or more shades can feel downright overwhelming sometimes. That's why I've been getting really into miniature eye shadow palettes — and why Anastasia Beverly Hills's latest creation couldn't have come at a better time. On October 5, the brand launched the second iteration of its beloved Soft Glam Eye Shadow Palette.

The Soft Glam II Mini Eye Shadow Palette is a miniature take on Soft Glam with eight shades instead of 12. It's encased in the same luxurious beige velvet as the original in a perfectly hand-sized package you can take basically anywhere. Six of its shades — Tempera, Orange Soda, Dusty Rose, Sultry, Mulberry, Noir — you know and love from the first Soft Glam palette. The remaining two — Dream and Incense — come straight from the also-beloved Norvina Eye Shadow Palette. In other words, this single palette combines the best of two Anastasia best-sellers in a much more compact format.

Of course, the miniature Soft Glam II palette has the exact same eye shadow formula that Anastasia is known and loved for. The six matte shades are pressed very softly, which makes them hyper-pigmented, so a little goes a long way. The same applies to the even softer metallic shades, which become opaque with the single swipe of a finger or dampened eye shadow brush. You might have to be wary of a little fallout, but it's well worth it for the smooth color payoff and durability you get in return.

All that said, I'm willing to bet the Soft Glam II Mini Eye Shadow Palette will be just as big a hit as the first one was back in 2018. It's arrived just in time for the holiday shopping season, as well — here's hoping you'll find it in your own collection of gifts this year (whether you got it from someone else or bought it for yourself).
