Alfonso Ribeiro Gushes Over Newborn Daughter Ava: ‘My Little Beauty’

Proud dad! Alfonso Ribeiro gushed exclusively to Us Weekly about his newborn daughter, Ava — but he isn’t the only one in the family who is smitten!

“My boys love her. My oldest son, AJ, actually, the funniest thing is he said the other day, we left him in the car and we went out, and we came back, and he was bawling right in the car,” the 47-year-old actor told Us. “We were in the garage and the doors were open, and we’re like, ‘What? What? What happened? What happened?’ He goes like, ‘I love her so much. I can’t stop crying.’ And then he was like, ‘Daddy, I want to marry her.’ … They love her to death.”

Ribeiro and his wife, Angela Ribeiro (née Unkrich), welcomed Ava on May 13. They are also parents of sons Alfonso Jr., 5, and Anders, 4.

The Dancing With the Stars alum, who is answering questions about parenting on the first-ever Hampton Real Travel Road Trip Hotline, admitted it’s “difficult” getting sleep enough with a newborn, whom he referred to as his “little beauty.”

Ava Sue Ribeiro finally decided to send @mrsangelaribeiro1 to the hospital on Mother’s Day and came into our world early yesterday morning. Both Ava and Mommy are doing great. Thank you Dr. Jason Rothbart for an amazing job.

“I flew here to New York from L.A. yesterday and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m about to get some sleep. This is going to be great. I’m going to have a bed to myself and no baby, no crying, no screaming, no diaper changes,’” he told Us. “And didn’t get one hour of sleep. Just my brain was going all night, couldn’t sleep. I think it was me missing her a little bit.”

Ribeiro is also the father of 16-year-old daughter Sienna. The father of four commemorated Father’s Day with his pal and former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air costar Will Smith on Sunday, June 16.

“I have a lot of friends who have kids and our kids get together and we all hang together. We were at Will’s house for Father’s Day,” he told Us. “And we are, and there’s Will, it’s Uncle Will.”

Ribeiro will be answering calls on the Hampton Real Travel Road Trip Hotline on Friday, June 21, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET at 1-866-7-HAMPTON.
