Taking the time! Odette and Dave Annable shared the key to keeping the spark alive while raising their 3-year-old daughter, Charlie.
“We enjoy nothing more than dropping her off at her grandparents so we could have a night alone,” the Brothers & Sisters alum, 39, told Us Weekly exclusively at the Saint by Ira DeWitt launch for St Jude’s on Wednesday, June 12. “But no, it’s important and we’re very lucky to have family and wonderful in-laws that are close and just want to spend time with her, so we took them up on that.”
His wife, 34, added: “Any chance we get.”
When it comes to raising their toddler, the actress shared how Charlie has changed them. “Her personality is growing very single day and we’re so grateful for her,” she told Us. “I just see, like, though new eyes every single morning and it’s so much fun. It just adds a different element to our relationship in a way, and we’re learning how to balance being parents and still being a couple.”
The pair, who tied the knot in 2010, welcomed their daughter five years later.
“Dave and I are thrilled to introduce you to the newest member of the Annable family…” the Astronaut Wives star wrote on Instagram at the time. “Charlie Mae Annable. Born September 7th. I took Labor Day quite literally this year. Dave gave me this blanket on Mother’s Day and baby Charlie and I slept with it our entire hospital stay. Charlie is a lucky lady to have you as a papa, we love you so much @dave_annable. Thank you all for the love that you’ve shown us through this journey.”
