If you and your partner have tested negative for STIs/HIV and not had unprotected sex with other partners after getting tested, then technically you would not be at risk to share STIs. In general, however, using condoms every time you have sex is the best way to lessen the chance of getting or giving STIs. Many people follow this rule: Use condoms until you’ve been exclusively dating (not having sex with anyone else) for at least a year.
